Last year, New Covenant started a community playgroup primarily aimed at mothers with children. “With a small church like New Covenant, we couldn’t have brought on another pastor otherwise.” Both Doree Rice and Moscoso’s wife, Megan, are active volunteers in the church. “Greg doesn’t require a full-time salary,” she says. She notes that New Covenant Assembly hired Cristian Moscoso as associate pastor last year, providing for more effective ministry to young adults, youth, and children.

“I’m anxious about getting the time I need in preparation for teaching.”īut Rice’s wife, Doree, who works at Full Sail University in Winter Park, sees positives.

“I sometimes worry that the church is losing something because they don’t have a full-time pastor,” he says. Rice concedes there are drawbacks besides the number of hours he works at both jobs. AG churches with paid lead pastors, about 20 percent supplemented their church income with outside employment. According to the 2000 Faith Communities Today Survey, of U.S. AG churches have an average of fewer than 100 attendees on Sunday mornings.

“ They are double-duty ministers, willing to do what it takes to make a difference for Christ in their communities.”Ĭertainly economic necessity is one reason pastors seek additional employment. “Bivocational pastors are vital to planting churches,” says Ray Gilder, national coordinator of Bivocational & Small Church Leadership Network. The apostle Paul made tents to support himself (Acts 18:3) and to avoid burdening others (2 Thessalonians 3:7–9). They work outside the church to supplement income or to build relationships in the marketplace. As a freelance teleprompter operator, he also works on television, commercials, live programs, corporate shows, and web content. Rice stays active as a pastor, but ministry isn’t his only vocation. Sermon preparation, preaching, pastoral care, and evangelism are just the regular expected duties before unexpected surprises. He sure aint preachin the gospel of jesus right out of the bible.Greg Rice, pastor of New Covenant Assembly in Casselberry, Florida since 2012, knows the busyness all pastors experience. Lots of hardware in a place like this….who knows.
#Pastor teleprompt how to
He,like ole dubya, are a sorry excuse for human beings, bleeding sheep of their hard earned money.Ī paaaaaathetic excuse and example of how to be a christian!!!!!! He’s a finely tuned speaker who is bilking people out of their hard earned money to line his pockets. if he keeps looking in a particular direction and his eyes kinda track back and forth in brief episodes…then he’s teleprompting… My former pastor airs his shows Sundays at 10am and he has a telepromter on as well.

“It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get into Heaven.”Ĭould be both. I’ll bet he has a lot of money tucked away. I’ll bet he has an expensive house and cars. Eventually you have to put up or shut up. Fancy words will only get you so far in this world. In fact, he’s a little too positive to me. Osteen is very articulate and a very positive preacher. Does he use a teleprompter, or is he reading from a piece of paper on his pulpit? He’s a great speaker, but it seems like his stories are too intricate to be me evoked only by memory. I’m watching him right now on BET (believe it or not).
